For the communities East of Los Angeles, the time has come for a new and vital transportation link to bring a new age of access.

The Metro Gold Line arrives in East LA on Nov. 15, 2009. With eight new stations serving diverse LA neighborhoods, such as the Arts District, Little Tokyo and Boyle Heights, this eagerly awaited extension will connect the Eastside by rail to Downtown LA, Pasadena, San Fernando Valley, South Bay, Long Beach and dozens of points in between.

Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension features include:

Six miles long
Directly connects to existing Metro Gold Line to Pasadena without passengers having to transfer
Total new stations: Eight (2 underground)
New public artworks at stations
Twin tunnels under Boyle Heights: 1.8 miles long
Budget: $898 million
Start of construction: 2004
Grand opening: November 15, 2009
Powered electrically with overhead catenary wires

Last train from Atlantic to Sierra Madre Villa – 11:25 p.m.

First train from Union Station to Atlantic – 3:40 a.m.
First train from Sierra Madre Villa to Atlantic – 4:36 a.m.
Last train from Union Station to Atlantic
(leaves Sierra Madre Villa at 11:40 p.m.) – 12:14 a.m.

Connecting Bus/Rail Service

Bus service to and from each Metro Rail station is available from Metro and community bus lines. Connections to Metro Red, Blue, Green and Orange Lines provide service to Downtown LA, Hollywood, San Fernando Valley, Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Norwalk and LAX (via a connecting free shuttle).

Connections can also be made to Metrolink commuter rail service and Amtrak at Union Station. Use the Trip Planner to find the best route.
